A un total de 105 estudiantes recibieron los simbólicamente el “PASO A LA LUZ” (imposición de símbolos), el cual está dirigido a los estudiantes de I y II año de la carrera Licenciatura en Enfermería.
La Ceremonia del “PASO A LA LUZ”, es el ritual más emblemático de la carrera de Enfermería, que representa el comienzo de las prácticas profesionales de los estudiantes y es un paso importante en el camino de su formación como profesionales de la salud.
Esta emotiva ceremonia se cumple en conmemoración a la importante labor de la Enfermera británica Florence Nightingale, quien en la guerra de Crimea (1853-1856), alumbraba en las noches en los campos de batalla con una lámpara a los heridos en su recorrido, momento que se atribuye la enfermería como profesión humanista y servicial.
En este acto participaron nuestro Rector Magnífico, Dr. Oscar Gómez, Decana de la Facultad de Ciencias Médicas, Dra. Isis Castro, Coordinadora de la Carrera de Enfermería MSc. Merilin López, directores, funcionarios, miembros de la Junta Directiva de la universidad, se contó con la presencia de la Presidenta de la Asociación de Enfermeras de Nicaragua, Lic. María Useda Chávez.
